Aaron Boge

Aaron Boge, born July 30, 1975, at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City, Iowa, passed away suddenly, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, service, and friendship. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, and friend whose infectious laugh, friendly disposition, and willingness to help others touched countless lives.

Aaron grew up in the area and graduated from Osage High School, where he was an active member of FFA. Following high school, he worked for Allied Construction before joining Colwell Cooperative in Colwell, where he worked at the mill and delivered feed to local farmers. He later began working for the Osage Community School District as a custodian and bus driver, a position he proudly held for 22 years.

On April 13, 2002, Aaron married the love of his life, Julie Hegtvedt. Together, they made their home in Osage, Iowa. In 2005, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Kylie JoAnn, who became the greatest joy of Aaron’s life.

Aaron cherished being a father. He loved teaching Kylie how to fish and drive, taking her camping, and sharing their love of country music. Some of his happiest moments were simply spending time with his daughter and watching her grow.

Aaron had many passions throughout his life. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and tractor pulling. He was especially proud of his 1954 44 Special Massey Harris tractor and enjoyed competing at tractor pulls, where he won several times. He also loved competing and working side by side with his brother Kenny on their demolition derby, figure-eight, and stock race cars. The time spent together working on the cars and competing was a special part of their bond.

One of Aaron’s favorite times of the year was the annual guys’ fishing trip to Lake of the Woods with his grandpa, dad, brother, and close friends. These trips created memories and stories that would be treasured for years to come.

Aaron was also known for his love of good food and good company. He enjoyed smoking meat on his Weber grill and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Aaron and Julie spent much of their time attending family events, entertaining friends in Aaron’s Man Cave, and tooling around the countryside in their Jeep.

Aaron had a remarkable ability to fix just about anything and could make something out of almost nothing. He was a true handyman and a person others could always count on. He was a servant to his community and would be the first to show up when someone was in need, never expecting anything in return.

His years at Lincoln Elementary School brought him into the lives of countless students. He was deeply loved by the children, many of whom would save their Pride Tickets throughout the year just so they could use them to eat lunch with “Mr. Boge.” Those simple moments reflected the special connection Aaron had with the students and the lasting impression he made on them.

Aaron is survived by his wife, Julie Boge of Osage; his daughter, Kylie Boge (Hunter); his brother, Kenny Boge (Debbie), and their children, Colton, Tyson, and Cassidy; his sister, Amy Krones (Gary), and their children, Lauryn and Allison; and his extended family and many close friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his nephew, Benjamin, infant son of Amy and Gary.

Aaron is survived by his loving wife, Julie Boge; his daughter, Kylie Boge (Hunter Boone); his parents, Ken and Pam Boge of Orchard; his brother, Kenny Boge (Debbie) and their children, Colton, Tyson, and Cassidy; his sister, Amy Krones (Gary) and children, Lauryn and Allison; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry (Julie) Hegtvedt, Kim (Lon) Isakson, and Wendy (Lenny) Luft; his father and mother-in-law, Edwin and Jean Hegtvedt; and many nieces and nephews, extended family members, friends, former students, coworkers, and members of the community who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his infant nephew, Benjamin, son of Amy Krones; his nephew, Logan, son of Wendy and Lenny Luft; and his grandparents.

Aaron's life was one of service, friendship, family, and laughter. He leaves behind not only the memories of a life well lived, but also the countless people whose lives he touched simply by being Aaron. His laugh, his generosity, his willingness to help, and, most of all, his love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Osage High School Gym. Visitation will take place on Friday October 2, 2026, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Elementary School Gym.
