Barbara Elaine Berge, age 84, of Osage, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage, Iowa.
Barb was born on August 14, 1941, in Taopi, Minnesota, the daughter of Everett and Iola (Carlson) Harrington. She graduated from Leroy High School in 1959, and then continued her education at Austin Community College, graduating in 1961. She was united in marriage to Loren Berge on June 9, 1961, in Chester, Iowa.
Barb was a CMA, housewife, homemaker and helped on the farm. Her hobbies included quilting, baking, gardening and crocheting. Barb was a member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, church circle, bowling league and numerous quilting retreats. Most of all she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Eileen and Bonnie; brothers-in-law, Roger and Glen; grandson, Andrew Berge; niece, Lori McKenna; son-in-law, Jon Baker; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her husband, Loren of Osage; children, Perry and Valerie Berge of Nora Springs, Jerome and Denise Berge of Waseca, MN, Orene Baker (James Delaney) of Sebring FL, Ann and John Beyer of St. Ansgar, and Eric and Lisa Berge of Osage; grandchildren, Steven, Jared, Joshua, Nathan, Travis, Andrea, Erin, Britani, Megan, Jonathan, Tara, Tanya, Dylan, Kyle, Mallory, Chase, Brady and spouses; 27 great-grandchildren with one on the way: three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Sandy) Harrington, Robert (Patricia) Harington, Randy (Deb) Harrington and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Rock Creek Lutheran Church in Osage. Visitation will take place on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Hoff Celebration – Champion Chapel in Osage. Burial will be at Rock Creek Cemetery.
