Charles "Doug" Douglas Murphy

Charles “Doug” Douglas Murphy, Jr., age 83, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday July 1, 2026, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage, Iowa. Doug was born on April 20, 1943, to Charles Douglas Murphy, Sr., and Reva (Utt) Murphy in Savannah, Iowa. Doug graduated from Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, Iowa. He farmed for most of his life, then moved to the St. Petersburg, Florida area where his daughter and granddaughter resided and owned a successful lawn maintenance service. Later on, he returned to Iowa and settled in Osage where his son and his family lived and where he began working for Pollard Lawn Service. He loved doing yardwork and when he could no longer do it on his own, he enjoyed being outside. Doug’s other hobbies included sports, whether it was watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and Florida Gators, attending Tampa Bay Buccaneer games with Julie, or watching and attending Nascar races with Tracy and Aaron and their families.

Doug is survived by his wife, Teresa Murphy; children, Julia (John) Kauzlarich, Tracy (Deborah) Murphy, and Aaron (Becky (“Beck” or “Beckster”)) Murphy; step-children, Christopher Vohl (Janice), and Marc (Lauren) Vohl; grandchildren, Jake (Alan) Murphy, Sara Murphy, Jackson (Gracie) Murphy, Matthew (Shannon) Murphy, and Meghan Murphy; step-grandchildren, Kristi (John), Samantha, Madison, Trinity, Bobby, and Lilly; great-grandchildren Blaine, Baylor, and Charles; step-great-grandchild Jeada; and sisters, Delores (Elmer) Wilkes and Linda Dencklau. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Reva Murphy; and granddaughter, Whitney Mathias.

A private burial will be held at a later date, at the Pulaski Cemetery in Pulaski, Iowa. Hoff Celebrations - Champion Chapel of Osage is assisting the family. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.hoffcelebrations.com.
