David Allen Keith

David (Dave) Allen Keith, 68 of St. Ansgar, Iowa passed away September 17, 2026.

Dave was born to Thomas and Joann Keith on April 12, 1958. in Burnett County, Wisconsin.

Dave was raised on the family hobby farm with his siblings Karen, Chuck and Jean. He worked hard on the farm alongside his parents. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and outdoors. Dave graduated high school from Grantsburg, WI and then went on to continue a career in Law enforcement. He started in the National Parks Service then worked as a Village Deputy Sheriff for Clark County, WI for two years where his grandparents lived. He then went on to work for Burnett County Sherriff’s Office and retired after twenty years.

Dave moved to Austin, MN and became a supervisor for International Paper. Austin is where he met and fell in love with Gina Talamantes. The couple married on July 26, 2014, in front of their families and close friends. Dave and Gina made their home in St. Ansgar, IA where they enjoyed family gatherings with their beautiful, blended children and extended family members. Dave and Gina loved spending their time together. Their favorite hobbies included traveling on the motorcycle, visiting various campgrounds, boating, listening to live rock and country music taking their fur baby Ava on her runs. Although Dave loved his Green Bay Packers, he took a healthy amount of teasing from his wife, Gina and family who are avid Minnesota Vikings fans.

Dave enjoyed travelling back home to Wisconsin to spend time with his best friend, Paul Martin and other life-long friends where they enjoyed poker parties shooting their guns and annual hunting trips.

Dave is survived by his wife Gina, son Michael (Tanya) Keith (grandchildren Noah and Addison), Melissa Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Jessica Swords, Jennifer Mickelson (Tony), Jonathan Talamantes, Marissa Alcala (Dominic), Elana Alcala (Jeremiah), April Alcala (Netza), Amy Alcala, Joe Alcala Jr. (Janessa), Bree Jones, many grandchildren. Siblings Karen (Steve) Kucerna, Chuck (Connie) Keith, Jean (Brian) Fettig, in-laws Carol Talamantes, Fabian (Leann) Talamantes, Dan (Beth) Talamantes, Mary Talamantes (Kevin), Jacob Talamantes (Jen), many nieces, nephews and extended family including his precious hunting partner in training Ava.

Dave; was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Keith and Joann Lahti; his daughter, PJ Keith; his grandparents; his father-in-law, Marcelino Talamantes Sr.; his brother-in-law, Marcelino Talamantes Jr.; and his beloved hunting partner, Emma.

Dave will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2026, at Hoff Celebrations – Schroeder Chapel in St. Ansgar, Iowa.
