Edna May Norby

Edna M. Norby, age 90, of Osage, died Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage, Iowa. Edna was born February 3, 1935, in Osage, IA, the daughter of Alvin and Charlotte (Henning) Amundson. On June 5, 1954, she was united in marriage to Marvin Norby at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. She spent her entire married life farming with Marvin on their farm southwest of Osage. Edna was an active lifelong member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church. Edna enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, baking, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Edna is survived by her children; James Norby of Hannibal, MO, Sharon Farrer (Jon Hass) of Hampton, IA, David (Marcy) Norby of Brookville, OH; grandchildren, Kristin (Drew) Lamb of Des Moines, IA, Andy Farrer of Latimer, IA, Laura (Brandon) Guddal of Montgomery, MN, Ryan Norby of Cincinnati, OH, Bradley (Sarah) Cox of Columbus, OH, Cody Cox (Sara Harris) of Dayton, OH, and Samuel Norby of Brookville, OH; great-grandson Harrison Guddal of Montgomery, MN; a sister, Mary Lugg, of Casper, WY; a sister-in-law, Marlys Smith of Memphis, TN; brother-in-law, Francis Jacobs, of Osage, IA; sister-in-law, Jane Norby of Omaha, NE; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; brother-in-law, Keith Lugg; sister-in-law, Joan Jacobs; brothers-in-law, Will Smith and Dean Norby.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3629 Foothill Avenue. rural Osage, Iowa, with Pastor Joel Nye officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 11th at Rock Creek Lutheran.
