Elizabeth C. Kisner, age 92, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. A visitation will be on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Elizabeth Lechman was born on July 5, 1932, to George and Eva (Schell) Lechman at Iliff, Colorado. At age 12, the family moved to Osage, Iowa. Elizabeth attended Osage schools. On July 1, 1950, she was married to the love of her life, Raymond Kisner, son of Claude and Celia Kisner. This marriage was blessed with ten children.
Elizabeth was a city clerk for 23 years in Mitchell before retiring in 2000. Elizabeth was a member of the American Legion Post 278 Auxiliary. She bowled nine years for Bawek’s Shoes in Stacyville. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Raymond, Elizabeth and their family spent 22 years camping with family and friends. She worked for Stacyville Community Nursing Home, and she also worked doing the dietary trays in the kitchen at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. She also worked at Town Pump in Mitchell. While Ray was alive, Ray and Liz danced to a band whose members were life-long friends.
Left to cherish her memory are Mary Jeffries, Irene (Larry) Beyer, Becky (Doug) Havig, Audrey (Robert) Donahue, Sue (Michael) Mostek, Linda (Thomas) Streit, Theresa (Robert) Hauber, Peggy (Mark) Gast, John (Patti) Kisner, Shelly (James) Hemann; 35 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren with one on the way, and 17 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 1990; parents, George and Eva; sons-in-law, Dave Lifka, Michael Meek, and several half sisters and brothers.
Hoff Celebrations - Champion Chapel of Osage is assisting the family with arrangements.
