Gary Neil Hveem

Gary Neil Hveem, age 86, of Bernalillo, New Mexico, formerly of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Gary was born on September 18, 1940, to Hans and Joyce (Paulson) Hveem.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances, whom he first met in kindergarten. Together they raised four children: Todd, Stephanie, Jennifer, and Joshua. Gary endured the heartbreaking loss of both Stephanie and Todd, whose places in the Hveem family remain forever.

He is also survived by Todd's wife, Jacque; daughter Jennifer (Rick); son Joshua (Debb); grandchildren Zach (Shelbie), Colton, Tyler, Treyton, Cooper, Talan, and Haley; great-granddaughters Ru and Scarlett; and his sister, Marcia (Bill). He was preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Joyce; his brother, Howard; and his children, Stephanie and Todd.

Public visitation will be held from 11:00a.m. - 1:00p.m. followed by a brief service at 1:00p.m on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Hoff Celebrations – Champion Chapel.
