Gloria Hinders

Gloria Hinders, age 83, of Osage, Iowa passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at her home.

Gloria Hinders was born July 23, 1942, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Dora (Parsons) Mills. Gloria attended school in Marshalltown. She was united in marriage to Donald Hinders on April 17, 1965, in LeGrand, Iowa. Gloria worked for many years as a nurse’s aide in Charles City and Osage Rehab (The White House of Osage), she later ended her career at Fox River Mills. She and Donald raised their family in the Osage area. In their younger years they enjoyed camping in Cadott, WI, and traveling to Branson, MO. Gloria had a warm and welcoming spirit; she found joy in conversation with anyone she met and never considered anyone a stranger. Her passion was playing games, especially Yahtzee. She loved her family and friends and loved participating in family events. She was known for her ability to accessorize any outfit. She was a wonderful cook, especially her deviled eggs and macaroni salad. She was an incredibly strong woman who found joy in life even in her most difficult moments. Gloria will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Gloria is survived by her children, Mark (Rose) Hinders of Mitchell, Lynn (Sherry) Hinders of Osage, Rodney (Steph Flugge) Hinders of Osage, Julie (Robert) Badker of Osage, and Pam Wyborny of Mason City, bonus daughter Bonita (Steve) Sullivan, close family friend Chris Carrico of Mason City; 23 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents; siblings, Betty (Elvin) Hazen, Robert (Kathy) Mills; grandson, Dustin Hinders; two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Prairie Lakes Church in Osage, and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. The funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Prairie Lakes Church in Osage with Pastor Andy officiating. Burial will take place at Osage Cemetery in Osage, Iowa, following the service, with a luncheon to follow at Prairie Lakes Church.
