Harlan Frederick Bisbee

Harlan Frederick Bisbee of McIntire, IA, went home to his Lord in the early morning of March 21, 2025. Born in Osage, IA, on July 17, 1951, Harlan was raised on the family farm north of Stacyville, IA. Harlan started his adult life with his passion for farming and continued to do so until the poor economy proved it was no longer a viable source to provide for his family. Ever resourceful he furthered his education in accounting, which eventually led to a successful accounting and tax preparation business.

Harlan met the love of his life (Mary) in August of 1974, and married her on January 11, 1975. Together they raised two children (Lisa and Brian) in a loving and Christian upbringing. Throughout his life, Harlan continually sacrificed for his wife and children as well as his community. As an active community member many of his accomplishments can still be seen throughout the area.

Harlan had often been described as a happy and “salt of the Earth” kind of guy. Always humble and curious he continually made time to listen and was always eager to ask questions. His unique laugh will continue to fill the hearts of everyone he knew.

Harlan was preceded in death by his father, Neil Bisbee and mother, Lucille Bisbee. He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Mary Bisbee; daughter, Lisa Bisbee; and son, Brian Bisbee (Paige Bauer); sisters, Joyce (Dennis) Rachut, Kay (Jim) Ferris; brother, Jerry (Pat) Bisbee.

Visitation services will be held at the United Church of Christ in Osage, IA, on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the United Church of Christ on Monday. March 31, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.
