Janet Darlene Wold

Janet Darlene Wold, 87, of Saint Ansgar, Iowa passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center.

Funeral service will be at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar with Rev. Christopher Staley officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at Parish Hall. Burial afterward at First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Janet was born on December 23, 1938, in Austin, Minnesota. Parents, Norris and Ardella (Kittleson) Anderson raised Janet in the St. Ansgar and Toeterville areas. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Janet attended Otranto Public School and graduated in 1956 from St. Ansgar High School. Janet was united in marriage to Richard (Mike/R.A.) Wold on September 21, 1958, at Mona Lutheran Church. They were blessed with five children: Michael, Kelvin, Ivan, Dana and Sonja.

The couple purchased Wold’s Service from Richard’s mother in October of 1958. Day or night and regardless of weather, Janet and R.A. always made customers a priority whether it was car repair, towing, farm tire repair or wheel business. Their values and ethics were passed along and continue as their family and dedicated and talented crew of past and current employees have helped grow the business from a local service station to a major manufacturer and distributor of agricultural wheels. Janet and R.A. were actively involved in many community projects. She was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Janet is survived by; three sons Kelvin (Lisa), Ivan (Melinda) and Dana all of St. Ansgar; and daughter Sonja (Scott) of Denver, IA. She felt blessed to be surrounded by many grandchildren and their families; Toni Kreitzer, Michelle Davis and Jess White (Michael’s children); Allison Lindquist, Erika Wold-Blakeley, Ryan and Abigail Wold (Kelvin’s children); Hanna and Sophia Wold (Ivan’s children); Courtney Dryer, Michael and Sarah Steege (Sonja’s children). She is also survived by nine great grandchildren, her brother Norman Anderson, her sister-in-law Karen Ketelson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband R.A., their son Michael; her parents Ardella and Norris Anderson and her brother Kenneth Anderson.
