Joan Jane Moynihan

Joan Jane (Brooks) Moynihan, age 95, of Northwood, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family. Joan was born in Syracuse, New York, to the late Hazel McDowell on July 27, 1930. In 1981 Joan married Al Moynihan in Syracuse. In addition to Northwood and Syracuse, Joan and Al enjoyed living in Arizona, Colorado, Tennessee and Texas.

Joan is survived by her husband of 45 years, Alan; daughters, Jane Cavelli and Patricia Golden; son and daughter-in-law, John and Jane Podgorniak; four grandchildren, Pearl, Ian, EllaJoan and Billie; and one great-granddaughter, Stella.

The family will celebrate her life with a memorial gathering on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at Hoff Celebrations – Sites Memorial Chapel in Northwood. Hoff Celebrations – Sites Memorial Chapel of Northwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
