Linda Louise Hagen

Linda Louise Hagen passed away on October 28, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Nursing Home, at the age of 80 years and 1 day. She was a beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and wife.

Linda was born in Osage, Iowa, on October 27, 1945, to Daniel and Rosemary McCarthy. She was raised on the home farm north of New Haven, and shared many adventures with her two little sisters, and the Mauser family up the road. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in New Haven, Iowa, graduating in 1963. She furthered her education at Hamilton School of Business in Mason City.

Linda was united in marriage to Kenneth Miller on August 6, 1966, and together they raised a son, Todd, on their farm south of New Haven. Linda was a devoted mom, who taught her son about the values of hard work, faith, education, and especially family. Linda married Pete Hagen on June 7, 1991. They had a beautiful home just outside of Osage, she loved decorating it both inside and out. Pete and Linda shared fun times camping and traveling, and they enjoyed semi dates when Pete was on the road.

Linda was known as an incredible hostess, and she always had food ready in the freezer for guests. She was a talented seamstress. Need pants altered or a coat sewn? Linda was your go-to gal. She was a cake decorator, gardener, and 4-H leader. She enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, cross-stitch and embroidery. She embraced her many years on the farm; she was an Iowa Cowbelle member and was featured in a magazine as a beef educator and farm homemaker.

She treasured her friendships and was always the first in line to help.

As a young woman she was featured as a calendar girl in the Press News. Linda was always dressed to the nines, and she had a laugh that let you know she was in the room.

She worked in accounting, and as a CNA, both careers she was very proud of. One of her biggest roles was that of a proud grandma (Gam-Gam) to her four Miller granddaughters. She attended many sporting events, dance recitals, music programs, and was always so proud to cheer for her Miller girls. She wanted to know every detail of what was happening in their lives and was always ready to offer support or advice. She was feisty, silly, and could dish out the sauciness as much as they could. Treasured memories include tea parties, decorating holiday cakes and cookies, playing croquet, long goodbyes at the doorway, watching and waving as they drove away. She was blessed to attend two of their weddings, and her sparkle was unmatched. Linda was especially honored to become a great grandma.

Linda is survived by her husband Pete of 34 years; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Patti Miller, and their daughters, Kara (John) Eden and their two children Aria and Everett, Laura Miller, Erin (Jordan) Nichting, and Mary Miller; step-son, Scott (Courtney) Hagen and daughter Olivia; step-daughter, Tori (Rob) Stensland and their children Reece, Sasha, Cale, and Jax; her sisters, Carmen (Ben) Johansen, and Karen (Dwaine) Heimer; nieces and nephews, Eric (Kate) Loften, Elizabeth Johansen (Caleb Estabrooks), Brian (Larissa) Heimer, and Kristy (Justin) Mayer, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She found joy in sharing life with her family and friends, and she will be dearly missed. We are extremely thankful for the care she received at Faith Lutheran Home.
