Lonna Marie Wright

Lonna Marie Wright, age 75, of Northwood, Iowa, died September 15th, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at First Lutheran Church in Northwood, with Pastor Becky Sogge officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Hoff Celebrations – Sites Memorial Chapel in Northwood, Iowa.

Lonna Marie Wright was born on February 26, 1951, to Wayne and DeElda (Martinson) Holtan in Forest City, IA. She grew up on a farm near Lake Mills. Lonna attended Lake Mills High School and graduated in 1969. Lonna was confirmed in Christ at Salem Lutheran in Lake Mills.

Lonna was united in marriage to Charles “Chuck” Wright on August 22, 1970, at the Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills. Together they had two children, Michael and Bradley, and resided most of their married years in Northwood. After Chuck’s death, Lonna later moved to Mason City.

Lonna worked for Fleetguard, later known as Cummins Filtration, for over 25 years. Lonna enjoyed dancing, bowling, and traveling with friends. Lonna was always up for going anywhere, especially if it included shopping. She loved to shop for clothes, jewelry, and pretty much anything! Lonna loved spending time with her son and her grandchildren.

Lonna was a one-of-a-kind individual whose spirit touched everyone around her. Despite Lonna’s struggles with relationships, Lonna brought lots of joy and love, especially to her grandchildren, that will always be remembered and cherished.

Those left to cherish her memory are Bradley and Angela Wright of Northwood; Sandra (Orin) Liljedahl of Clear Lake; Janell (Arlan Hollander) Iverson of Northwood; Beth (Joel) Dahle of Lake Mills; Donna (the late Edward) Bott of Rochester, NY; and Lonna’s grandchildren Ethan, Stella and Michael Wright, as well as lots of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Lonna was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and DeElda Holtan; husband, Charles “Chuck” Wright; son, Michael Wright; brother, Terry Holtan; brothers-in-law Jon Iverson and Edward Bott; sister-in-law Nancy Holtan; nephew, Douglas Bott; niece, Amy Liljedahl; and in-laws Donald and Edith Wright.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial donations to WCCOP, an organization that Lonna passionately supported. Donations may be sent to WCCOP, P.O. Box 275, Northwood, IA 50459, in Lonna’s memory.
