Lori Jane Pepper, age 67, of Northwood, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Pillar of Cedar Valley in Waterloo, Iowa.
Lori was born on June 12, 1959, in Kanawha, Iowa, to Howard Drevs and Beverly (Mewes) Drevs. She attended high school near her hometown and later graduated from Iowa State University. Lori devoted her career to helping others as a speech pathologist, working in the Fort Dodge school system and later in the St. Paul School District, where she made a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of many children and families.
On August 31, 1991, Lori was united in marriage to Rex Pepper. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and shared values.
Lori found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed listening to music, especially Norah Jones, the Eagles, and classical selections. She was an avid fan of women’s basketball and followed the Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark with great enthusiasm. Lori loved living on a farm, gardening, and caring for animals. She had a special love for horses and cherished her dogs and cats.
Lori was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Rex Pepper; children, Sam (Misty) Pepper, Lucas (Sara) Pepper, and Sarah Springer (Shane); grandchildren, Tyler Pepper, Penelope Pepper, and Octavia Pepper; and siblings, Brian Drevs, Jerry Drevs, Ann (Stan) Waters Kaye (Kathy Howell) Drevs.
She was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin and daughter, Jamie.
A funeral service for Lori will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Hoff Celebrations – Sites Memorial Chapel in Northwood, Iowa. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Amsterdam Township Cemetery, rural Kanawha, Iowa. Hoff Celebrations – Sites Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
