Margaret Ann Shanks

Margaret Ann Shanks, age 85, of Nora Springs, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at MercyOne hospital in Mason City, Iowa, surrounded by family. Margaret was born May 22, 1940, in Iowa. Margaret was the daughter of Lawrence and Margaret Kiger. She was raised in Portland, Iowa.

Margaret is survived by her children, Tori Wheeler, Mark Edwards (Julie Edwards), and Bradley Shanks (Alyssa Retterath), along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Harold Edwards; her daughter, Margaret Edwards; her brother, Larry Kiger; sisters, Jeanette Bruhn and Henrietta Kiger.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
