Michael Edwin Loden

Michael Edwin Loden, age 57, of Osage, Iowa passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 24, 2026. 

Michael was born December 26,1968, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Austin and Shirley Loden.

He graduated from Osage High School with the Class of 1986 before moving to New Jersey. There, he worked for a telecommunications company, where he made many lifelong friends and was loved by all who knew him. Michael enjoyed tinkering on cars with his best friend, Lou, attending auto races, and especially looked forward to Connie’s famous BMC (baked mac & cheese). He was also a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan.

Michael later returned to Iowa, where he was employed at Kraft. He married Denise Roll, and although their time together was far too short, they shared many cherished memories before Denise passed away in 2009.

Michael later made his home with Deb Chase of Osage, and together they built a life filled with love, companionship, and many happy memories over the years. One of Michael's greatest joys was spending time with his granddaughter, Lexie, who brought him endless happiness.

Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and the love he showed to his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and his warmth, humor, and friendship touched the lives of many.

Michael is survived by his wife, Deb Chase of Osage; his mother, Shirley Loden of Mason City; his brothers, Dean (Marilyn) Loden of Osage and Mark (Mary) Loden of Mason City; his sister, Mary (Roy) Christeson of Plymouth; his stepdaughters, Nikki Roll, Katie (Jim) Cowell of Osage and Stephanie (Jeff) Bostrom and granddaughter Lexie of Prosper, Texas; stepson Christopher Gerk; and his nieces, Brittany Loden of Eau Claire, and Emily (Jess) Ciavarelli of Plymouth.

He was preceded in death by his father, Austin Loden; his wife, Denise Loden; and his niece, Alexandra Loden.

A private family graveside service will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mitchell, Iowa.
