Darlene Agatha Hemann, 90, of Osage, died August 26 at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Rev. Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29 at Sacred Heart Church in Osage with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that memorial be directed to Sacred Heart Church in Osage. Darlene was born March 4, 1933, in Stacyville, the daughter of Roman and Bertha (Pint) Michels. She graduated from Visitation High School in Stacyville in 1951. On February 4, 1954, she married Arthur Hemann at Sacred Heart Church in Osage. They shared 59 years together before his death in 2013. Darlene retired in 1993 after working for 25 years at the Maple Inn. She earned the Employee of the Year Award from the Chamber of Commerce in 1982. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, dancing, golfing, and traveling. Most of all, Darlene was proud of her family. Darlene is survived by her children, Russell (Cheryl) Hemann of Dubuque, IA, Nancy (Jon) McSweeney of Panama City Beach, FL, Gary (Jolene) Hemann of Osage, IA, Kevin Hemann of Cedar Falls, IA, and Gregg (Lisa) Hemann of Atoka, TN; grandchildren Julie (Brian) Jasken, Crystal (Will) Thomas, Michelle (Kevin) Kruize, Marcia (Joe) Hanssen, Jed (Jen) Hemann, Jesse (Stacy) Hemann, Joe Hemann, Luke (Lisa) Hemann, Jake (Jen) Hemann, Tony (Kimmy) Hemann, Ryan Hemann, Alyson Hemann, and Jacque (Blake) Garren; 29 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Ken Harvey and Kenneth (Ann) Hemann, sisters-in-law Sister Kenneth Hemann, Beatrice Hemann, Angela Werner, Joan Hemann, Theresa Theis, Gloria Michels, and Laura Michels. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; brothers, Jerry, LaVerne, and Bill; sisters, Joan, Marcella, Annette, and Margaret; daughter-in-law, Sara, and great-grandchild, Frances Darlene. The family would like to thank the staff at the Faith Lutheran Home Assisted Living, Nursing Home and North Iowa Hospice for the care they provided over the last several years.
