Dale Jones

Born October 25, 1943 to Robert Leo and Alfina G. Jones at rural Swaledale, Iowa. He lived there until they moved to Mason City in 1958. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1962, as a MOHAWK. In 1964, he graduated from Hamilton Business College with an Accounting Degree. There he met Janice K. Helgeland, and they were married in 1964. To this union, Angela K. was born. Janice and Dale were married 25 years. He married Cheryl Morse in 1990 and were later divorced. He married Mavis Fitzgerald in 2014. They were together 20 years. Cheryl and Dale reconnected after being apart those 20 years on New Year’s Eve 2021. Dale farmed at rural Northwood until 1997 and remained at the home place until moving to Mason City in 2005. Dale worked various part time jobs while farming early on. Dale was proud of being elected “Outstanding President of the State of Iowa” when he was President of the Northwood Jaycees. His hobbies were fishing and hunting, snowmobiling and woodworking. He enjoyed “UP NORTH” Minnesota in the Summers and Arizona in the Winters. Dale was baptized, confirmed at Swaledale Methodist Church and was a member there. There will be a Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Swaledale Methodist Church. Dale was preceded in death by his Parents, his Brother Robert L. Jones, his wife Janis, and his wife Mavis, and a Step Daughter Mandy {Morse} Mullenbach. He is survived by his Daughter Angela K. Wilkins, His love and companion Cheryl Jones, her Children Dan Morse, and Melissa Morse; also by Mavis, her Children Liz Davidson and Lori Trotter, Grandchildren that called him Papi and Buddy Dale, Close Friend and Cousin, Penny Deam along with his Aunt Dorothy Deam, Nieces and a Nephew, many Kramer Cousins, many fishing buddies, long time hired man and Friend Andy Hartwig, Tom Shay from California. And many friends too numerous to mention. Blessed be his memory. In lieu of gifts, please give to your local city Jaycees or to the Future Farmers of America groups at your local School.
