Randy Ray Rosenberg

Randy Ray Rosenberg, a beloved father, Opa, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, at the age of 75. He was born on October 31, 1950, to Raymond and Barbara Pike Rosenberg and grew up on a farm in St. Ansgar Iowa. Randy graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1969 and attended Hawkeye Tech. He became a police officer with the Waterloo Police Department from 1971-1981. Randy went on active duty with the US Army in 1981 where he proudly served within the Transportation Division for 32 years, before retiring as a Colonel in 2013. He continued to work as the Civil Service Chief in the Logistics Division at Rock Island Arsenal for 7 years before fully retiring. Randy lived life to the fullest and enjoyed his many Harleys, classic fast cars and watching football!

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Leraaen (St. Ansgar IA); daughter, Charissa Rosenberg and son Alex Naran (Omaha NE); Son, Shane (Kim) Rosenberg and children Jackson (Dana), Harrison, Owen and Keira (Amana IA); daughter, Christine (Bobby) Merten and children Katelyn, Morgan, Evelyn and Maxwell (McIntyre IA); daughter, Donna Brumm and sons Cooper and Ryland (Stacyville IA); sisters, nieces/nephews, aunts, cousins and many friends. Randy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Debra Jean Myers Rosenberg; father, Raymond Rosenberg; brothers, Rick and Ray Jr, and sister, Deb White.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Hoff Celebrations – Schroeder Chapel in St. Ansgar, Iowa. Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery in St. Ansgar.

Hoff Celebrations – Schroeder Chapel of St. Ansgar is assisting the family with arrangements.
