Richard "Dick" Hemann

Richard “Dick” Hemann, age 79, of Osage, Iowa passed away on June 2, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Richard was born on December 2, 1945, in Osage. The son of Cletus and Kathleen (Milbrandt) Hemann. He graduated from Visitation High School in Stacyville, Iowa. Richard was united in marriage to Judy Voight on January 2, 1967, and from this union they had four children: Rod, Kim, Terry, and Karla. He worked for L. R. Falk Construction for 45 years with majority of his time spent as the office manager/loader operator for the Lesch Quarry.

Richard was very passionate about being a part of the community. He served on the Stacyville City Council and the Visitation School Board. Some of his favorite things to do were camping and watching his favorite teams, the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also had a love for playing softball and coaching up until the age of 50. He enjoyed spending his winters at Canyon Lake Resort in Mission, Texas since 2014 until he was no longer able.

Richard is survived by his wife, Judy of Osage; children, Rod (Darlene) Hemann of Osage, Kim (Joe) Gibbs of Osage, Terry (Sara) Hemann of St. Ansgar, Karla (Jeff) Alder of St. Ansgar; 13 grandchildren, Brianna (Nick), Natalie (Marion), Cody, Jordan (Peyton), Josh (Emmi), Matt, Steven (Cassandra), Brooke (Blake), Jake (Josie), Kaitlyn (Brady), Courtney, Emily (Keith), Levi; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Duane (Terrie), Norman, Larry (Karen); sister, LaVonne (Larry) Heimer, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Kathleen, and a brother, Dennis.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, Iowa. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow the service at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Faith Home Capital Campaign. Please dress in casual attire.
