Robert "Bob" Peter Wagner, 84, of Stacyville, Iowa passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 17, 2026.
Robert was born on December 5, 1941, in Mitchell County, Iowa, to Herbert and Rose (Stephanie) Wagner. After completion of 8th grade at Stacyville Visitation School, he worked on the family farm.
In 1964, he was drafted into the U. S. Army and served his country honorably for 2 years at Fort Carson Colorado. Upon his return from service, he was employed by LR. Falk and Theobald Implement and hauled milk for Stolzenberg. He then began farming with his father on the family farm.
He met the love of his life, Grace Learn, on a blind date. They were united in marriage on October 14, 1972. To this union, 4 children were born.
Robert was a lifelong farmer and resided on the family farm until his health declined. Bob was a member of the Stacyville Visitation Catholic Church. He also sang lead as a member of the Forte Milers Barbershop Chorus.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Grace, of 53 years, his children: Richard (Devon) Wagner of Dike, IA; Lisa (Rodney) Power of Osage, IA; Brian (Sarah) Wagner of St. Ansgar, IA; Philip (Breaan) Wagner of Dexter, MN, 12 grandchildren: Tanner Henning (Kortney), Anali Wagner, Ellie Wagner, Ericka Power, Myiah Wagner, Alanna Wagner, Danielle Wagner, Kendall Power, Carson Wagner, Logan Wagner, Spencer Power, and Seth Power, and 2 great-grandchildren: Kolsen and Baylor Henning.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Michels, sister-in-law Joyce Wagner, sister-in-law Linda Wagner, sister-in-law Ruth Learn, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Frank and Faye Learn, Leo and Julie Learn, and Cecil and Elaine Learn, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Rose Wagner, brothers John, James, Daniel, and sister, Ceceiia. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wayne and Jean Learn and nephews Mathew Learn and Jeremy Learn.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 10:30a.m. at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Father Paul Baldwin, officiating. Burial will be in Visitation Catholic Cemetery. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the church and continue one hour prior to service on Wednesday.Hoff Celebrations - Champion Chapel of Osage is assisting the family with arrangements.
