Robert Eugene Detmering III

Robert E. Detmering III, age 44, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from an accident.

Rob was born April 7, 1981, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Jill and Robert Detmering Jr to complete the family with big sister, Judith Ann.

His first years the family moved around eventually settling in Osage, Iowa, where he lived most of his life. He graduated from Osage High School in 1999 and prepared to take on the world. Rob met and married his wife, Lori, and to this union his only child was born- Ryan Elizabeth, who was the light of his life. They later divorced, with Rob getting custody of Ryan and raising her from a very young age on his own.

Rob had different jobs over the years, mostly in welding and factory work. He found a passion and a release in working out, body building, and lifting weights. He was a lifelong Raider’s fan and enjoyed NASCAR, as well as high school and college wrestling. Rob also took an interest in motorcycles and bought and rode many of them. He loved the open road and the feeling of independence it brought.

Rob is survived by his daughter, Ryan (Carter Morey); mother, Jill Detmering; sister, Judi Black; nephew, Matt (Michaela) Detmering; and great-nephew, Logan Detmering. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Detmering Jr; paternal grandfather, Robert Detmering Sr; grandparents, Marjorie and Warren Whipple; and maternal grandparents, David and Darlene Brinkman.

Rob will be remembered for being a strong, caring, and hardworking man who always had his family as his number one priority.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Hoff Celebrations- Champion Chapel in Osage. Hoff Celebrations - Champion Chapel of Osage is assisting the family with arrangements.
