Robert Charles Wilde

Robert Charles Wilde, age 89, of Osage, passed away Aug 19, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Society in St Ansgar surrounded by his family. Robert Charles Wilde was born March 19, 1937, on the family farm near Grafton, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Laura Wilde; He was the second of three children. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa.

Through his grade school years, Robert attended Rock 6 country school near Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School in 1955 where he loved participating in theater, playing basketball and baseball.

On Oct. 28, 1956, Robert was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Clarice Wilde at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Manly. This union would be blessed with four children. The most important things in his life were family, church and the farm. He worked on the family farm raising hogs, cattle, corn and beans. He loved his orange Allis Chalmers tractors of which he owned seven of them through his farming career.

Robert was one of the first employees at David Manufacturing, went to NIACC for drafting and became the production engineer. He worked there for 38 years; for a company he loved and helped grow. He orchestrated many family vacations traveling the U.S., Canada and enjoyed several trips to Europe.

He had a passion for fishing and passing that knowledge down to his family.

He prided himself on keeping his yard and flowers immaculate. There weren't many times you didn’t see him working out in the yard.

He and Clarice were avid collectors of Flow Blue antique china and traveled the country to obtain just that special piece.

Robert was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church and served on many boards and committees. He was a devoted husband, wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was always his main focus. The pride and love he had for them was always evident.

Those blessed and grateful for sharing in his life are his children, Denise Miller and her special friend John Safranski of Bloomington, Minnesota, Scott Wilde and his wife Susan of Grafton, Iowa, son-in-law, John Larson and wife Cathy of Estherville, Iowa , and Brenda Wilde of St Ansgar, Iowa; his grandchildren, Shawna (Miller) Bornholdt and her son Jayce, Danielle (Miller) Fowler and husband Michael and their son Theodore, Darren Miller and fiancé Jade Jordan, Morgan (Wilde) Snyder and husband Mat and their children Sylvan and Sydney, Lauren (Wilde) Heimer and husband Tony and children Claire and Ava, Jenna (Larson) Steere and husband Joe, Andrew Larson and wife Nicole, Derek Siedelmann; his sister-in-law, Deanna Sande; brother-in-law Marvin Hanson and many nieces and nephews.
