Rosemary Hemann, age 90, of Osage, Iowa passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Rosemary was born August 24, 1934, in Dover, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis and Leona (Majerus) Wegman. She attended St. Charles High School for two years and graduated from Divine Savior High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Rosemary attended nurse’s training in Wausau, Wisconsin, and worked there as a nurse for two years before returning to work in Minnesota and Iowa.
On July 26, 1958, she married Lawrence “Larry” Hemann at St. Charles Catholic Church in St. Charles, Minnesota. Larry and Rosemary farmed and raised their family on the family farm near Osage. In 1984, Rosemary graduated from NIACC with a degree in registered nursing and worked as an R.N. at the hospital in Charles City for five years. Rosemary was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Sacred Heart Guild. She also was involved with a Bible sharing group at Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and flower gardening.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Janice Brownlee of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, Judy Devorak of Rochester, Minnesota, Michael (Kim) Hemann of Fort Worth, Texas, Diane (Mike) Klemas of Mason City, Iowa, Martin (Lori) Hemann of Waukon, Iowa, Dale (Cindy) Hemann of Osage, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchild; siblings, Donald Wegman of Independence, Wisconsin, Marvin (Exy) Wegman of Dover, Minnesota, and Regina (Tim) Anderson of Janesville, Wisconsin and sister-in-law, Janet Wegman of Dover, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry; siblings, Margie Guenther, Bernard Wegman, Lorraine Bonine, Leora Delaney, Dorothy Wagner, Florence Smith, and an infant brother.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, Iowa, with Father Peter Dery officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. with a rosary at 3:45 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
