Sharon Kay Beyer, age 85, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa. Sharon was born on December 8, 1940, the daughter of Nicholas Peter and Lynette Bertha (Geffert) Klein. Sharon attended school in Mitchell, Iowa, until 8th grade, and proudly received her GED in 1983.
Sharon married Darrell Lee Beyer on November 23, 1956, in West Union Iowa, and from this union two children were born: Scott and Pat. Darrell sadly passed away in August of 2008.
Sharon worked for MonRay (Osage Manufacturing) and the Osage Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Osage. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, hosting yearly game feeds, dancing, crocheting, playing the organ and accordion, girls’ trips to the casino, cruising the back roads with Darrell, eating lobster, Elvis, attending Caleb and Grace’s wedding in Montana, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her children, Scott (Sherrie) Beyer of Osage, Iowa, Pat (Bruce) Weis of Stacyville, Iowa; grandchildren, Adam Carson (Sara Charlson) of Mitchell, Iowa, Caleb (Grace) Beyer of Missoula, Montana, Kristen (Brandon) Huisman of Osage, Iowa, Amanda (Darren) Powers of Osage, Iowa, Joshua (Alex) Skuster of Rudd, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Kayli Carson, Ryan and Megan Greenwood, Ada and Fiona Beyer, Irystin, Landon, Hudson, and Hayden Huisman, Keilee, Bryson, Alexis, and Elliot Powers, Emma, Abigail, and Harper (Moxie) Skuster, and special friends, Connie Mausehund and Terry Skuster.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Lynette Klein; husband, Darrell Beyer; sister, Diane Bruce; brother, Robert (Red) Klein; great grandson, Jamison Allen Skuster.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Osage Cemetery. A visitation will take place at Hoff Celebrations – Champion Chapel at 11:00 a.m. prior to the graveside service. There will be a celebration of life immediately following the graveside service at the Osage American Legion.
