Shirley Wilde

Shirley Wilde, age 86, of Osage, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Shirley was born on January 30, 1939, in Mason City, Iowa. The daughter of OK and Laura Riehm. She graduated from Carpenter, Iowa. On October 26, 1957, Shirley married Melvin Wilde. She farmed alongside her husband until his passing.

Shirley was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed going to all her grandchildren’s school events and cherished spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by her eight children, David (Rochelle) Wilde of Osage, Laurie (Steve) Smolik of Osage, Mike (Lori) Wilde of Osage, Kristy (Tony) Helfter of Elma, Kelly (Jeff) Krause of Mason City, Wendy (Rob) Niess of Osage, Stacy (Kelly) Anderson of Osage, Kori (Troy) Havel of Osage; grandchildren, Amber Wilde (Anthony Oldfather), Morgan (Kyle) Baldwin, Dakota Wilde, Stephanie (Marcus) Pollard, Adam, Kiel, and Ellen Helfter, Jamie (Laura) Huisman, Brandon (Kristen) Huisman, Cody Stoneman, Ashley (Tanner) Betts, Zachary Anderson, Tyler (Ali), Collin (Taylor), Kelsey (Cris Marx), and Nathan Havel (Lauren Voaklander); 25 great grandchildren; Harper Baldwin, Abigail Baldwin, Marcus Jr. and Logan Pollard, Violet and Lilly Helfter, Bennett, Clarie, and Emma Richardson, Trystin, Landon, Hudson, Hayden Huisman, Brecken (Clara) Huisman, Olivia, Trace, Harper Huisman, Paisley, Huxley, Brixley Betts, Kayden, Owen, Hendrix, Jolie Havel; sisters, Marilyn Harrington of Mason City, Barbara (Bill) DeKruif of Garner, Marlys (Aaron) Thurnau of St. Ansgar; sisters-in-law, Arliene Kuntz of St. Ansgar, Rosemary Wilde of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin (2011); parents, OK and Laura Riehm; sister, Beverly Levenhagen; in-laws, Roy and Rose Wilde; brothers, Glenn Riehm (Bev), Robert Riehm; brothers-in-law, Elwin Levenhagen, Bill Harrington, and Gene Kuntz.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Hoff Celebrations – Champion Chapel. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Osage, Iowa. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
